BLOCK PARTY presents the world’s leading NFT art experimentalists for a special edition of works brought together for the first NFT exhibition by a global auction house in the region. Taking stock of existing art movements such as new media and pop art from the 70s, 80s and 90s, a sizable portion of what we now consider important art was being made with digital technologies like photography, video and computers. With the rise and spectacular market ascendancy of NFTs entering the pantheon of the blue-chip art world, Block Party attempts to reconstruct and provide an overview of other important art practitioners involved in the recent art history of 2020 through 2022—a time marked by the rise and mainstream adoption of NFTs. Curated by DARIA BORISOVA and hosted by CHRISTIE’S, this exhibition brings together leading practitioners at Christie’s Dubai in the Dubai International Financial Centre during Dubai’s month of art.
