Alejandra is the founder of Mujer Opina Foundation, and is an active board member of several prestigious institutions and organizations, including the Frederic Chopin Foundation in Poland, the Museo del Bario in NYC, the International Jose Limon ballet, and the eagerly anticipated Guggenheim Abu Dhabi. Her latest project includes MIA, a private art collection with a global footprint aimed at promoting women artists and their work.

Ghada Dergham is an outdoor living designer based in Palm Beach. In addition to her successful landscaping businesses, Ghada also has an impressive art collection. She has varying tastes with a special penchant for Richard Hambleton, aptly named “The Godfather of Street Art.” Ghada has been collaborating as co-curator on a new Hambleton exhibition at the Museum of Urban and Contemporary Art in Munich. Unfortunately, the show was postponed due to Covid-19, but is scheduled as a future exhibition at the museum. In the meantime, Ghada stays busy with her business and her art dealing. With decades of experience collecting, we spoke to Ghada about her collection, thinking of art as investment and the advice she would give to women in the business today.

In this chat we speak to Gaelle Alexis, who is based between London and Dubai. Gaelle travels around the world to discover, acquire and promote art. Born and raised in Antwerp, Belgium, she grew up in an environment with strong exposure to top level art, fashion and architecture. Gaelle’s aspirations and need for freedom have been unconventional since a young age, which led to working and traveling extensively after graduating from high school. She has lived in Hong Kong, New York, Dubai and London over the past fifteen years. After having held jobs in the modeling, fashion and design industries, Gaelle felt the need to finally dedicate her life to her passion for art, and attended the Sotheby’s Institute of Art to deepen her knowledge and understanding. Today, Gaelle shares her passion for art with prominent collections, corporations and institutions, advising and guiding them in their collection management endeavors.
