As a celebration of the human body, Daria Borisova’s exhibition – Fever Dream – presents an evocative series of abstract and figurative works by 13 international artists. At the forefront of their generation, this group of emerging artists are brought together for the first time on Vortic through a unique, and ultimately enabling digital experience. Merging traditional and modern styles, explicit and distorted forms dance between sheer voyeurism and direct confrontation. The uncanny is at play here, and scenes appear utterly bizarre, yet deeply impressionable, as if journeying through a lucid dream. One is encouraged to consider themes of intimacy, identity and the notion of relationship, not only between others, but also concerning the Self. The vibrant, warm tones of the artworks hum round this exhibition, simultaneously eliciting comfort and caution, especially as one wanders round in the complete isolation of virtual reality, removed from the real world.
